Our work at Peak includes working on some of the biggest global challenges on the planet. In response to this, David Roberts has been instructor and a speaker for business, government, and nonprofit groups on topics of the day related to watershed and flood management, climate risk, land use planning, and sustainability.
After years of working to protect watersheds, forests, habitat, salmon, and shellfish, David decided to go on the road with a presentation about Climate Change. His Pacific Northwest Perspective is titled, "Climate Risk: Black Swans, Boiled Frogs, and Canaries in the Mine." The talk can be from a half-hour to an hour. |
"David Roberts recently presented to a large group of our Sierra Club members. In an era of world-wide warnings, David’s presentation distilled this massive topic down to specific impacts on our local environment and, most importantly, what each and every one of us can do to minimize the negative impact. David is a great speaker and his presentation was cogent and on-point. It was well received by the audience and resulted in a lively discussion with many great questions. Sierra Club strongly recommends David’s presentation for your group." Lynn Colson, Secretary, Mt. Baker Group Sierra Club "I want to thank you again for your climate risk talk at our annual dinner. It was very well done was exactly what I was hoping for. I think everyone was very engaged! I appreciate the knowledge and passion you bring to the subject." Jeff McClure, Whatcom PUD Commissioner |

When it comes to stormwater, education is key! Peak staff present stormwater maintenance workshops to provide education about how to maintain stormwater facilities, including ditches, swales, rain garden, stormwater ponds, oil-water separators, and other structures. Kulshan teaches stormwater workshops and leads field tours in Whatcom and Skagit counties focusing on emerging maintenance and regulatory obligations.
Target audiences are homeowners associations, municipalities, real estate professionals, property managers and others who want to know more about how to maintain their stormwater systems and preserve their valuable asset. |
"We thought we'd be bored to tears for two hours. However, we were pleasantly surprised! Your workshop presenter was very professional, engaging, and helpful. We came away with useful information that we need to keep up our stormwater system." Ed Krause, Homeowner's Association member
