Specialties
I am a results-oriented change agent skilled in multi-stakeholder facilitation and collaboration, with well-developed project management and presentation skills. She is a skilled communicator with a demonstrated ability to articulate complex information to varied audiences with a high degree of credibility. My career over the past 30 years includes professional work in environmental sustainability, including waste management, renewable resources, water quality, toxics, and environmental health.
As an inventor and business owner, I created and founded an award-winning business - GO Box - the first reusable take-out container service. I understand the issues business owners contend with daily including marketing, sales, finances, logistics, personnel management and strategy. In other sustainability work, I established Aramark’s first regional sustainability program with food service and facility management clients in 30 college and universities. For the State of Oregon, I directed a program to reduce the impact of toxic chemicals on human health. I have experience organizing and coordinating reform legislation and working on sustainable development issues in Mexico. I am an experienced professional, creative thinker, as well as a seasoned facilitator. “Laura is a strong analytical thinker, a highly organized writer and a very effective public speaker. She has a tremendous ability to quickly win the credibility and respect of erstwhile opponents, and to bring groups together to reach consensus while avoiding emotional pitfalls and rhetoric. Perhaps most important, Laura is someone who simply gets things done, with an unerring focus on results.” – Jeff Allen, Executive Director, Oregon Environmental Council |
