When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with others while biking, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, and fishing. I delight in watching the birds that gather at the feeders in my backyard.

Specialties
For over 30 years, I have been passionate about contributing to a more just and sustainable future as an educator and nonprofit leader in a diversity of public and private, alternative and traditional institutions. I have taught environmental, sustainability, and climate change education. This deep understanding and diversity of transferable skills provide a strong stepping stone to projects related to education, science curriculum development, and community engagement.
My particular strengths are derived from experience integrating environmental and sustainability education into the K-12 curriculum in a variety of settings at local and state levels. I have also trained many teachers in environmental, sustainability and climate change education and presented sustainability seminars and trainings. I bring expertise on a policy level through my work on a team of educators that developed the WA State Learning Standards for Environmental and Sustainability Education. Currently, I serve on a committee promoting environmental and sustainability education policy in Washington State. Education
