When I'm not at work, I am happiest when outdoors. I love Nordic racing and skiing and inspiring youth to excel in the sport. Prior to 2007, I was an elite Nordic racer competing in Olympic trials and World Cup competitions. I enjoy serving in various capacities in the ski industry as a ski director, instructor, retailer, clinician, and mountain guide.

Specialties
I bring technical expertise to my work in the areas of stormwater regulation and environmental regulations and economics. I like serving in the capacity of technical advisor on the Stormwater Phase II Manual. I particularly enjoy research and community-based environmental education. Clients can count on me to provide solid environmental impact analysis and project management skills which were exemplified in projects for the City of Anacortes and the Environmental Assessment and Alternatives Analysis for the Whatcom Park/Lookout Mountain Trail Plan (Plan). I also worked on the Bellingham School District Stormwater Inspections, and Whatcom County Stormwater Inspections for property owners, homeowner and condo associations, and property managers regarding stormwater system maintenance needs. For the City of Bellingham Stormwater Facilities Inspection Pilot Project, I carried out an independent Phase II compliance evaluation for City-owned stormwater facilities and inspected a variety of facilities including LID structures in support of a City stormwater rate fee study.
